Where the endorsing state legislators represent
NY-12 is an entirely Manhattan seat, yet most of the sitting state legislators who've endorsed represent districts well outside it. They read as colleagues of Assemblymember Alex Bores (himself AD-73, Manhattan East Side) more than as local-district figures.
Of the 21 currently-serving state legislators backing a candidate, only a handful represent any turf inside NY-12: Rebecca Seawright (AD-76, UES) and Liz Krueger (SD-28, East Side) for Bores, and Linda Rosenthal (AD-67, UWS) for Lasher (plus slivers of Deborah Glick's and the retired Richard Gottfried's Manhattan districts). Everyone else represents voters who can't cast a ballot in this race.
Bores has by far the wider net — 17 sitting legislators (15 of them Assemblymembers) spanning Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, Long Island, and upstate (Rochester, Rockland County). Lasher's 4 sitting (3 of them Assemblymembers) (+1 former) cluster in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Schlossberg has none.
